Post subject: | Some questions on electrics |
Hi guy's, I haven't been on here for ages. I am planning on buying an XB4 to have some fun with, I don't race anymore and don't have a buggy track near me, but I do have a park very near to me and a garden ![]() I am getting an XB4 as I love to build the cars and I love the Xray quality. I have a question about the electronics I plan on getting, I am thinking of the Speed Passion Reventon Pro V1.1 ESC and the Speed Passion Competition V3.0 10.5 turn motor, is this a good combination for the car to have some fun with? Would a 13.5 turn motor be better? Also I am going to get the new Sanwa/ Airtronics MT-4S radio set, I have an old Ko Propo PDS-2343FET Digital servo with coreless motor and metal gears I want to use in the car, will the servo work ok with the radio or do Ko Propo servos have problems with Sanwa radios? And a question on the car itself, I see that some people have placed shims in the diffs, do you need to do this on the new 2014 spec cars? Thanks guy's. |

If the motors are standard motors which fit any 1/10 off-road then they will fit the car without any problems. Verify with your shop that those motors you are going to buy are the standard one that will fit the 1/10 off-road. For the servo-radio question this has to be addressed to the radio supplier brand to be sure that you get an appropriate answer. Diff shims - this is individual and is suggested while assembly to check the play you have. A certain small play must be present to ensure that there will be no binding. If you will build the car following the included Instruction Manual you will have no problems at all and if yes, we are here to help you out. |

Thanks guy's for the replies ![]() Also thanks for the tip about the connectors on the motor, hmm will think about this now as if I solder then I can get any motor and speedo. Also yes I will ensure it is a 1/10th scale motor. And I will be building the kit as per the instructions so will not use shims if I don't need to. Also good to know about the radio, I may yet get A Ko Propo EX1 though as I can get it for a reasonable price on import, that's what I did I with my last Ko Propo radio, only downside is if it needs repairing as it has to go back to Hong Kong. |
